Historic Mapleton Hill Remodel
Rosewood Construction, Inc. is currently undertaking a complete renovation of 1039 Mapleton Avenue, a contributing Queen Anne–style home in Boulder’s Mapleton Hill Historic District. Originally built between 1895–1896, the home features stained glass, carved trim, varied siding materials, including locally-sourced stone, and a distinctive tower added in the early 1900s.
This 2026 remodel for the Dauber family enhances the home’s long-term durability, restores historic elements, and adds a fresh, new living space in a way that aligns with Landmark Review Committee guidance.

Why Rosewood Construction
Rosewood Construction collaborates closely with architects, homeowners, and Boulder’s Landmarks Review Committee to ensure each design choice enhances—not overwhelms—the original structure.
This includes:
Scaling and stepping back the new addition to remain subordinate to the historic roofline
Designing dormers that maintain proper hierarchy and do not compete with original architectural features
Ensuring reversible construction where possible to preserve the home’s historic integrity over time
Choosing materials, proportions, roof pitches, and detailing compatible with the Queen Anne character
The result is a remodel that feels authentic, natural, and rooted in the home’s historic evolution.
